The Good, The Bad, and the WTF: Project Runway

I am an AVID watcher of Project Runway. It's almost sickening how much I love this show (and Tim Gunn). Last night's episode left me with a lot of WTF feelings. Instead of reviewing all the looks, I picked out 3 that I need to discuss.

The Good

The judges were spot on giving Gordana the win this week - I LOVE this dress. I would wear this dress. So fun, so sassy and edgy. Totally deserving of the top spot. Plus I love when Gordana says anything.

The Bad

I don't think this look is as bad as the judges were making it out to be. And I do NOT think Epperson should've been voted off this week - I was pretty upset that this was the lowest. Maybe it looked worse in person, but did you seriously see Logan's look? I agree, Logan's a cutie - but THAT abomination is a flat out embarrassment to fashion.

The WTF

I really want to like Chris. He is self-taught, and adorable. But WHAT ON EARTH WAS HE THINKING? I... I can't. I don't even... how could someone be proud of this? Horrifying.

Trend I Hate: Boyfriend Jeans

Hey, honey. You look SO GOOD in those jeans - can I borrow them?

Have you found yourself in this disucssion with your man? Because I sure haven't. Ever.

For some reason, these boyfriend jeans have made themselves popular this fall season, with many celebrities sporting the college stoner look. Why, I ask. Why would you hide your near perfect, starlette body in a pair of these uglies:

Seriously, if I had something that even SOMEWHAT resembled Katie Holmes' bod.... what a hot mess.

And it's not just Katie Holmes' "rocking" these abominations. It's ALL. OVER.

Because when I go out for some coffee, I like to resemble the guy on the median trying to sell flowers. I wouldn't be caught dead in this trend and I hope it does just that - DIES.

How do you feel about boyfriend jeans: trash or treasure?

Necklaces To Die For

I have a confession. I LOVE statement jewelry. I really think I'm going to be one of those old women who just wear way too much jewelry, but it will be fabulous! So, with this in mind, I picked out some of my absolute favorite statement pieces from etsy.

Extra long Vintage multiple chain necklace from Rebecca3030. So gorgeous it makes me sick. I imagine wearing this with a navy blue mini dress, tights and boots with the biggest sunglasses. UGH.

Effing awesome felted zipper necklace from londicreations. I have no idea how one would go about making this, but that's the beauty of shopping - I don't need to know! This is painfully awesome and would look amazing with a basic t-shirt and jeans, with a sassy ponytail. Love it!

How adorable is this? Like, seriously. It makes me want to just pinch everything in sight it's SOCUTE. Fly away with me necklace comes from yellowgoat and it's seriously hard to not buy right now. So in love.

To wrap this up (no pun intended), this absolutely fabulous fabric necklace with vintage flowers from etnyk is just PERFECT for fall and winter. Great to throw on over my coat to give the whole outerwear a kick in the pants (in my head, coats wear pants, k?). I think my next etsy purchase might have to be something from this shop, fer real.

Introducing... me!

Ah, yes. Me. The topic I know so very much about. I'm FINALLY joining the blog world, after much debate of whether it's worth the trouble or not (I guess it is).

Anyway, I'm going to use this first entry as a throw away introduction. So, here goes!

That's me! My name is Malarie, I'm 22 years old and a Libra (birthday's in 2 weeks - buy some presents now!). I currently reside outside of Washington DC and am moving up to the big apple early next year.

That's my boyfriend, Justin. We've been together for 2 years and going strong. He's a nerd, I'm a nerd. It works.

These are our cats, Banjo (with the umbrella) and Jinx (not with the umbrella). They are both one and cool as hell. Well, Banjo is, anyway. Jinx is pretty neurotic. They're cute, though!

I create those things. Jewelry, and bleached accessories. I could sit here and pine away about the days of yester-year, when I was but a wee child who would gaze upon jewelry and dream of one day when I would make it. But, I'm not one of those artists. However, I do love creating, and I totally dig fashion. I have a lot of fun doing what I do and I quit my day job to pursue a career (and now dream) of being immersed in the fashion world. I haven't looked back since, best decision of my life ever.

As I said, I love the fashion world. I also love criticizing it (it's a love/hate relationship). Plan on reading about things I love, things I made, things I hate and designers that should die. Why should you care? I don't know, but you shouldn't need to ask.
